Introduction
The Church of the Resurrection of the Lord belongs to the Orthodox parish of St. John the Theologian in Terespol, which today is a very strong center of the cult, attracting many pilgrims, both Orthodox and Catholic.
The main Terespol temple is located about 2 km from the already defunct church of St. Nicholaus in Brest above Bug, the place where in 1596 was signed the tragic church union, called Brest. Today Terespol and Brest share the state border.
In 2010, there was a miraculous phenomenon of God’s mercy through the icon of the Theotokos “Gorgoepikoos.”
History
he Church of the Resurrection of the Lord is located in the central part of the Orthodox cemetery in Terespol, about 300 meters from the main parish church of St. John the Theologian.
Its consecration was made by Archbishop of Warsaw and Chelm Flawian on May 31, 1892. About 3,000 believers, representatives of the state, military and education autorities took part in this event.
Until 1926, the church served as an Orthodox, then was captured by the Neouniat, and 15 years later it was returned to the Orthodox Church and serves Orthodox believers to this day.
Architecture
It is a wooden building of a log structure, with a sloping roof covered with tiles. It is an oriented temple of three parts, with a rectangular nave, a small rectangular altar and a porch. Applications from wavy, carved boards can be seen at the corners of the object. The roof above the main nave and the altar is crowned with bulbous domes with Orthodox crosses.
In 2008, the object was included in the register of architectural monuments. It is an interesting example of the sacred architecture of the Podlasie region.

The last restoration of the temple was carried out thanks to financial support from the European Union.
n the inner part there was a one-row iconostasis, dating back to the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries in an eclectic style. After the renovation work, the full preservation of the chapel, the iconostasis is also waiting for restoration. At the moment, the work of local photographers is presented inside the church.
