Introduction

The Church of the Resurrection of the Lord belongs to the Orthodox parish of St. John the Theologian in Terespol, which today is a very strong center of the cult, attracting many pilgrims, both Orthodox and Catholic.

The main Terespol temple is located about 2 km from the already defunct church of St. Nicholaus in Brest above Bug, the place where in 1596 was signed the tragic church union, called Brest. Today Terespol and Brest share the state border.

In 2010, there was a miraculous phenomenon of God’s mercy through the icon of the Theotokos “Gorgoepikoos.”

Renovations

Restoration work was carried out three times in the history of the temple: in 1930, 1970 and 2019.

The last restoration of the temple was carried out thanks to financial support from the European Union.

n the inner part there was a one-row iconostasis, dating back to the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries in an eclectic style. After the renovation work, the full preservation of the chapel, the iconostasis is also waiting for restoration. At the moment, the work of local photographers is presented inside the church.
